From the first breath, she felt her uniqueness.

Uniqueness was seen as her weakness.

Preakness was the one thing her family taught her never to let get the best of her.

Blurriness in her was all she saw from behind tears.

Fear was the one thing that wouldn’t get in the way.

Paying her dues to be a part of this world was her challenge.

She took the plunge and did it her way.

Praying wasn’t something she believed in

Her gin would make her challenge sweeter

The determination in her made for quite a sight to be seen

She was the queen of her own story

Her story became more intriguing as time went on

None of the naysayers would get her down.

Her frown would grow into a beautiful smile

While the naysayers waited for her to fall

She would not let them hold the ball

She was the queen of her destiny

Her bestie was her uniqueness

Uniqueness wasn’t a weakness at all.

Her Preakness was her straight.

Hi I'm Marie W.O.W.O.C.P ( Work Out With Cerebral Palsy) Just an average person living with six legs. Two on me and four on my walker. I live a full independent life with cerebral palsy. These are life stories and events about how I overcame everyday life with cerebral palsy. I hope by sharing my life story and lessons I have learned I can help others in the world to show them that disability is only a word. Just because our body may not be capable of everything we want to do but with a positive outlook on life we can still get where we want and need to be.
